Difficulty: Easy

    Rowlett Act 1919:

In 1919, Sir Sydney Rowlett got an act passed. It was named as the Rowlett Act. It was a black law. The administration was given unlimited powers and the civil rights were trodden upon. Quaid-e-Azam (Rahmatullah) raised his voice against it. He wrote to the Viceroy Lord Chelmsford, “In my opinion, the government that passes or sanctions such a law in time of peace forfeits its claim to be called a civilized Government.”
