How did India occupy Kashmir?

Difficulty: Easy

There were 635 princely states in the Sub-continent A large number of these states joined one either of the two countries. However, no decision could be made of the states of Jammu and Kashmir, Hyderabad Deccan, Junagadh, Mangrol and Manawadar. Afterwards, India occupied these states. The Muslims were a minority in these states except Jammu and Kashmir. Therefore, Pakistan arose the question of rights of the people concerning the Muslim majority state Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan is one of the views that the right of self-determination of every state must be honored, and the future, of the state, must be decided by the wishes of the people.
